APW - Waltham, Railroader, Model 1892, 17J, 18S, gold-filled OF recase with attractive engine turning and engraving detail to rear, "Railroader. Waltham." marked white enamel SS dial, SW-SS, spiral pattern nickel damascene, frosted finish winding wheels, s#7489826. A rare watch, we believe the total production of the Model 1892 "Railroader" was 360 made.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, winding wheels with few small oxide specks, center wheel jewel setting with a mismatched screw and with some small mars to jewel setting and immediate surrounding area of plate; nearly flawless dial with some scattered areas of mild edge rub under bezel; excellent hands, hour and minute with some small bits of finish loss, seconds-hand with greater degree of finish loss; case shows light wear, no dents or dings, reduced engraving detail with areas of full loss at rear shoulder; tight bow, crown shows light wear; clean plastic crystal.
